Madeline Anderson-Balmer

Yes, having read your post I totally agree. We need to take more time for ourselves and not feel guilty about it. I recently signed up for a “meditative” yoga session. Friday night, candles, soothing music, and other women trying to approximate the poses of the instructor, but all in good fun, and no one feeling competitive or pressured to conform. We just did what our bodies allowed. It was so refreshing and way better than a night out with the girls that usually involves too many calories, a lot of gossip, and in the end, no real improvement in my situation. Learning to set aside time for just you is a huge teacher. Regardless of how busy, or how many challenges you face, even just 15 minutes of peace to reflect on what you’re doing, what you want, and the positives in your life can get you back on track. Add taking care of yourself physically as far as doctors and check ups, and tests that are overdue is also a MAJOR factor in keeping yourself moving forward in the direction you want.
